Fort Worth Music & The Paradox

October 1, 2010 | Category: Art/Culture,For The City

A bunch of us from The Paradox Church are going to the last First Friday on the Green tonight.  The local music in Fort Worth is greatly underrated and I thought I would take some time to introduce you to a few of the bands.

First Friday on the Green will be featuring Telegraph Canyon and Whiskey Folk Ramblers, with music starting at 6:00 PM.  The Dallas Observer calls Telegraph Canyon “A soul-bearing, deliberately paced, at-once epic”.  This seven member band spans a range of genres.  Whiskey Folk is heralded by the Fort Worth Weekly as “depression-era brilliance”.  Here are a few other local Fort Worth bands to check out:

Luke Wade and No Civilians

Smooth.  Just listen.  Think Ray LaMantagne meets Ben Harper meets Amos Lee meets John Mayer.

The Orbans

Green River Ordinance

The Campaign

They are no longer playing, but my boys Tyler Wood, Paul Jenkins, and Blaine Crews (now with The Orbans) were outstanding live.
