1. how can i get involved or find out more info?
we have a group meeting on thursday nights (with another one starting soon on wednesday nights) that we would love to have you at.  on sundays we worship together at city view church in n. fort worth and we would love to have you there as well.  we will be having a couple of vision nights coming up where we will chat more about the paradox church and you can click here to sign-up for a few regular updates.  feel free to contact jim directly here.

2. why downtown fort worth?
downtown – because as a church we feel called to bring about a paradox culture in the city. downtown is where the hospitals are, the businesses are, colleges, the media outlets, the arts, music, bars, restaurants, theaters, government, etc; culture emanates from downtown. to transform the city for the glory of God and to bring about a paradox culture we must be in the city – living, breathing, working, playing, serving, eating, drinking, watching, and loving.

fort worth – because fort worth is growing.  it is hurting.  and it can be used by God to change north texas, the south, the US, and the world.  fort worth is the fastest growing large city in the states. 1 out of every 4 girls is sexually abused, 40% of boys in fort worth go to bed without a daddy, there are 5000 homeless people, many are whole families, and church seems to be more of a hobby for most residents and Jesus is not central but just one slice of the pie.

3. what denomination are you?
we are not affiliated with a denomination. we are part of a network of churches called acts 29. our sending/mother church is cityview church which was planted by the village church.

4. what will services be like?
our sunday morning gatherings will be centered on word and story.

word – the Gospel and Jesus will be proclaimed through the preaching of the Word and the singing of the Word.   the majority of our sermons will be preaching through books of the bible.  through song as well the Word will be proclaimed.  our worship will be done in excellence and most importantly centered on the greatness of God.

story – we also want to see the Gospel played out in story.  this happens through baptism, communion, and testimony.  baptisms tell a story of redemption as we see God transform lives and people walk from death to life.  communion will be taken weekly as a picture of Jesus sacrifice on the Cross.  testimonies will be shared;  some will be of men and women who have experienced Gospel transformation and some will be just people who are still struggling with the idea.  we want to tell the stories of lives at every stop along the path – skepticism, unbelief, belief, struggle, pain, celebration, death, life.

5. why another church?
there seems to be one on every corner, right? well here’s why: 3 out of 4 fort worth residents do not go to church. statistics are very clear that the best way to bring the good news of Jesus to those who don’t know Him is through starting new churches. the gospel is always moving. from 12 dudes 2000 years ago to over a billion followers of Jesus now. the church should be a movement; not an impotent institution.

can i ask you a few questions?

1. what breaks your heart for the people around you? are they hurting? are their marriages suffering? are they bored with life? are they empty?

2. what breaks your heart for fort worth? the homeless? the schools? the sexually abused girls? the single moms? the elderly? the passive, impotent men who do nothing to love their wives and children?

3. do you want to see more of God? do you want to see Him move? do you want to see lives transformed?

4. do you want God to use you mightily for good, not indifference? do you want Him to use you to train men? teach young women?

5. will you pray about partnering with us?
