What to Expect
Welcome to The Paradox Church. We are all about the glory of God and thus, the mission of God to make his glory known. So we exist to saturate the city with the glory and grace of Jesus. If you’d like to know more about who we are you can view Our DNA here. If you are still figuring out who Jesus is and what that means, Sunday Gatherings and City Groups are both great places to consider and explore.
Each Sunday Gathering lasts for approximately 80 minutes. We typically sing two songs at the beginning, read Scripture, preach, take communion, and sing three more songs. Our dress is casual. You will not be singled out or pressured to give money. Also, we’ve saved a few parking spots on 4th Street, across from the front entrance of our gathering space.
Our preaching is centered on Jesus. This means we preach from the Bible, because the Bible is all about Jesus. Typically we preach verse-by-verse, book-by-book.
Our singing is centered on worshipping Jesus. You are a part of the band and we desire to create an environment to foster congregational singing not to put on a show for people to watch. Our bands include elements of rock, pop, folk, gospel, and other styles. We write some of our own songs, and we also play arrangements of classic hymns and modern worship songs.
Because of our set up the music may be loud at the front of the room. There are earplugs on site should you need them.
PRDX Kids is about helping parents raise kids who love Jesus. We do this by providing an environment on Sundays where the Word of God is taught and Jesus is worshiped and by equipping parents–the primary disciplers–through resources and classes.
PRDX Kids will have one check-in for all morning services. Please come find us at the middle level, just outside the elevator doors, where friendly and helpful PRDX team members will collect important information and then direct you to your child’s class.
PRDX Kids offers three classes: Tiny Town (birth-23 Months), Kids City (2 years-kindergarten), and Big City (1st-5th grades). All are offered at all three Sunday services. After the sermon we encourage you to pick up your children and bring them into the gathering to finish by singing together as a family.
Parking in downtown is free on the weekends. You can park in the garage on 4th with entrances on Jones and Calhoun. Entrance to the Van Cliburn Hall is on 4th and Calhoun, adjacent from the Bass Hall.
Guest Parking is available on 4th Street across the front door of the Van Cliburn. Look for the signs.
Here are ways to find out more about us, meet other people, and get involved.
God calls us to be a part of Jesus-centered community, specifically in the local church. City Groups are the highway of discipleship and community that we want everybody to be on. They are the best way to truly be a part of The Paradox Church. As a family they learn how to love God, love one another, and see people meet Jesus. It is in a City Group that you will get to know the church on a more personal level and grow in your love for Jesus.
From helping set up for a Sunday gathering to joining us serve with a local non-profit, serving at The Paradox is a great way to get involved. You can view our teams and sign up here.
What Else Is Going On?
In addition to the above, we often have things like special gatherings, classes, and other church-wide events going on. Check out our Events page for the latest.
