how do i join a group?

Your first step will be joining us at City Group Connect. You’ll hear vision for our Groups and be equipped to step into your first City Group.

WHY SHOULD I JOIN A GROUP?

Biblical community refers to believers who come together for fellowship and support as they follow Jesus. Many passages in the Bible speak to the importance of community for believers.

We are made for community.

Deep within people’s hearts is a longing to both know others and be known by them, and City Groups have the opportunity to meet these needs. City Groups, at their core, embody the call to love one another found sixty times throughout the New Testament.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

While not every Group will have the same rhythms, at City Group you can expect to:

  • Meet weekly for about 2 hours

  • Share a meal

  • Have a place to process and practice what is preached on Sunday morning

  • Fellowship

  • Pray in community

  • Live on mission with your group

Our City Group Leaders are faithful followers of Jesus, and are committed to helping others grow in their relationship with the Lord. They demonstrate spiritual maturity by regularly reading their Bibles, praying, repenting, extending forgiveness, and using their spiritual gifts to encourage others in these practices. They also demonstrate relational maturity by fostering a hospitable and welcoming gathering, cultivating connection, valuing vulnerability, and actively promoting the cultural values of The Paradox Church.
