New Gathering, New Location
We’ve been a church for three years now, gathering weekly on Sunday mornings in Downtown Fort Worth at the Van Cliburn Hall, and then living as a broken, but redeemed people throughout the city of Fort Worth in a way, hopefully, that proclaims and displays the glory and grace of Jesus. And we love Fort Worth, we love the people here, from students to families; artists/musicians to businessman/engineers; young and old; black and white; We love those who have been oppressed by bad teaching masquerading as Christianity, and those who have little to no background in religion or the church at all.And one of our hopes as a church, is that we would be a family that pushes back on some of that brokenness, some of that oppression, some of that frustration—some of the darkness even—with the light of the love and grace of Jesus. But one thing we’ve seen is that, there is a large number of people in our city, who would be open to peaking over the fence into the church again or open to hearing what God has to say through His Word, and would be open to attending a gathering with some friends and that stirring some deep rich conversations—even debates. But because of their work or just stage in life, they can’t.So maybe you work nights, you work in the service industry, or your a barista or bartender; or maybe you are an artist or musician; or perhaps your a family and nap times with children are hard to work around, or you know someone that fits one of those descriptions—whatever the case may be, we wanted to start a Sunday evening service, at First Christian Church, so hopefully we get a chance to meet some of you, start a dialogue with you, and, most importantly, get a chance to love you well as we all experience the grace and glory of God.If you are a part of The Paradox already, here is how you can help:Pray: Begin praying now for your favorite server, local musician, nightshift worker, and college student. Pray they will meet Jesus. Pray that they would be open to an invitation to our evening gathering. Pray that bartenders, strippers, and servers get saved hearing the Gospel, are loved through a new-found community, and are empowered and sent on mission that the Gospel might be saturated in every place in our city.Commit to and “own” the evening gathering: This isn’t the singles service or the college service. We need married folks, married-with-children, singles, and students all committed to this.Invite: Be intentional and active in getting the word out and inviting friends. Ask your servers if they work most Saturday nights and are unable to go to church on Sunday mornings, and then invite them to our Sunday evening gathering, and then take them out to dinner afterwards. So, the church is beautiful, and we are grateful for the people of First Christian opening their doors up to us. Starting February 9th, we will meet in the mornings at the Van Cliburn Hall with services changing to 9 and 11, and also 5pm at First Christian Church.Find a map to the Van Cliburn Hall (Morning Services) here.Find a map to First Christian Church (Evening Service) here.Below is a video of Pastor Jim sharing the vision for our 5pm service at FCC.
