Resources On Sex And Sexuality
In his infinite wisdom, God created sex to be a clear picture of the unity and pleasure God has within the Trinity. In his overflowing love, God created sex for us to get a taste of this unity and pleasure and keep us looking forward to the day when we get to experience the fullness of our intimacy with God. The vast majority of us see more clearly the havoc that has been wrought on our lives and those around us as a result of the sexual brokenness we experience. Whether it’s our own sexual sin, the sexual sin of others committed against us, or both, this is the reality we often find ourselves in. There are few things that have brought greater hurt and pain to God’s people than the plethora of sexual sins.
There is a greater story than that of our experience. As Paul proclaimed, where sin increased, grace abounds all the more (Romans 5:20)! Jesus' perfect life, his substitutionary death, and his glorious resurrection is the story that changes everything. We now are children of grace rather than children of wrath (Ephesians 2). And by the power of the Holy Spirit we are now being renewed in knowledge after the image of our creator (Colossians 3:10). We have great hope knowing that one day we will be free from this body of death, and we have great joy knowing that the God of peace will sanctify us completely.
In relation to the sermon and the Q&A video, every week of our Genesis: 10 Big Questions series we want to provide you with resources that help you go deeper into the topic. Our goal is that these sources will help you increase in your knowledge of God and lead you to worship Him in an even greater way. Here are some resources for this week.
