Rhythms

As a church we just finished an eight-month study through the book of 1 Corinthians. Typically we just teach through books of the bible, but for the next eight weeks we will cover a number of very practical topics in our series, RhythmsFor many Christians, the Christian life is a compartmentalized life that we add to our normal, secular life. So we add events and duties to our normal everyday events and duties and call it "discipleship" or "mission" or "worship".But the whole of a Christian's life is worship. And to grow as a disciple of Jesus and to join Jesus on His mission to be glorified through the saving of sinners happens in the everyday rhythms of our lives - not as an added event. We will look at eight everyday rhythms that all cultures in all places live out that we might learn how to live everyday life to the glory of God.RestListenWorkEatCelebrateBlessStory-FormedRecreateWe will look at these to develop a "theology" of them; how do we worship God in them? How do we grow as disciples in these everyday rhythms? How do we walk in-step with these regular rhythms as missionaries - inviting those that aren't yet disciples into our regular lives that we might make them disciples of Jesus?Join us this Sunday.
