God's Hold Is Stronger

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? — Psalm 27:1

Maybe your life seems to be slipping away; God's hold is strong.Maybe your marriage is weakening; God's hold is strong.Maybe it is strong; don't put your hope in it though. God's hold is stronger.Maybe your friendships and community aren't reaching out in your time of need; God's hold is strong.Maybe they are solid right now, your community is deep. Regardless, put your confidence in the strong hold of God.Maybe you feel unprotected, anxious, overwhelmed, burdened, distraught, depressed—you can't get a grip; God's hold is stronger.Maybe you are grasping for control, gasping for air, or groping in the dark—He is your light and salvation, and His hold on you is strong. When my daughter is sick, sad, hurting, afraid, troubled, or tired, she will cling to me, holding on tight, almost like a little monkey where I don't even have to hold her because her grip is so tight. But even if she grew weak of holding on, even if she grew tired of clinging to me, even if her strength failed her, her fatigue set in—she would be ok. My hold is stronger than hers.Your Father's hold is strong. Why should you fear?
