Good Friday Service 2013
Join us for our Good Friday service as we reflect on Jesus and the cross. Easter Sunday is a great celebration made brighter when we see the darkness of Friday. "On Friday a thief, on Sunday a King."Good Friday is the darkest day of the year. It’s the day we remember Jesus’ death on the Cross—a death we deserved—for the forgiveness of our sins and the restoration of our relationship with God. It’s a somber day, a reflection on the searing pain and agony of the man who was God dying the most horrible of deaths in our place. It’s a day to reflect on our sin and realize the weight of our affliction.
Yet, Good Friday is also a good day.
Jesus suffered outside the city in order to sanctify the people through his own blood. Therefore let us go to him outside the city and bear the reproach he endured. For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. - Hebrews 13:12-14
It’s also a day to remember that God willingly came as a man to die in our place. A day to reflect on the deep love of God, who desired to redeem us and heal us, to make us friends with him. A day to understand that the grace of God is deeper than the furthest depths of our sin. For by his wounds we are healed. And by his blood we are cleansed. The Paradox, in conjunction with our friends The Rooted and City Church, invite you to join us.Where: Trinity Park (West 7th St. Pavilion across from Chuy’s)When: March 29th at 6:00pm.*What: It will be a time of worship, communion, and reflection.Bring: Friends, children, and a blanket or chair*Parking is on the street on West 7th, the lots at Trinity Park, and along the street on Stayton.
