Redemption Groups :: Week Two

Tonight we answered some tough questions. Pastor Jim preached about the difference between what redemption truly is and what we think it should look like; for most of us that is two very different things. Many of us are coming into Redemption Groups with our “one big issue” and our perception of redemption is somewhere along the lines of redemption being the opposite of our affliction. When that is not the case, it’s a hard thing to digest.When we broke into groups we were asked to answer two questions: What do you think your redemption should look like and who do you cry out to? We all answered honestly but after the teaching I think we all knew our pictures of redemption were nearly selfish.  Pastor Jim asked the question, “What if you had to die more?” Suffering will come again. Some of us are still facing it daily because we can’t find any acceptable reason to answer why it came in the first place.For me, lies will always be there. I think the only reason I could even stomach that teaching is because I am still having to confess these lies to Him daily, and every day He shows me that I am His. My only prayer is that we all, myself included, have the courage to ask God what our picture of redemption should look like and have the belief that through God- given strength we can reach it and walk in it.Find the rest of the blogs in this series here.For more information on Redemption Groups go here.
